This damn wireless link is causing me so much trouble! I wish I could just narrow it down to a hardware, driver, or configuration problem.
The best advice I've seen so far is to restart the driver with
rmmod -f iwlagn modprobe iwlagn
New firmware was suggested, but I already have 8.24.2.12-2 http://intellinuxwireless.org
