Intel auction took just about the whole day - 5hrs! Bought a little UPS. Regular reunion of ex-Intel people there : David Y, Mark J, Trish, Firdosh, Ciprian Sanjay, Pratheep, Stuart, Ralph, Pieter. Went to the gym. Monday, 14 April 2003

Monday, 07 April 2003Tramped up to the Pinnacles in the Coromandel.
The 9am start was early for both Brendan and I. Drove to Thames bought some extra supplies. Followed the windy pot-holed road up the Kauaeranga valley. Choose Tarawaere Track not knowing it is the roughest of the tracks to the Pinnacles. (see map.) Big climb up tangled tree roots, then down a stream bed and through (in) a swamp. Just when I was starting to get worried about making it to the hut before nightfall we joined onto the Billy Goat Track and everything became much smoother. Spent Monday night at Pinnacles Hut. I'm frustrated with laptop power management. ACPI support on Linux is not good. Beautiful day like today I should be outside using my 802.11 WLAN. Hoping to get some help from http://www.leog.net. RedHat 9 released to RHN today. Will have to try and get a copy. March 2003 Web Logs
